Doug lives in New Prague. He joined the Natural Resources Conservation Service
(NRCS) office in Jordan this past fall. He is the Area Resource Soil Scientist and has held similar positions throughout southern Minnesota since 1995. Prior to joining the Jordan staff, he was employed at the St. Peter Area NRCS office.

Doug began his career with NRCS in 1987. He worked on soil surveys in Meeker and Renville Counties until 1992 when he transferred to St. Peter. He and his family have lived in Belle Plaine Township since 1992.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in soil science from the University of Minnesota in 1978. Prior to his work with NRCS, Miller worked in various aspects of soils, from surveys with the University of Minnesota Experiment Station to work with Subterranean Engineering, a private consulting firm in Minneapolis.

Much of his time involves training, field investigations and customer assistance.
